Dishwasher (Café by GE)

  1. Flip the light switch above the dishwasher to ON — the unit will not run without it.
  2. Load dishes on the bottom rack, cups and bowls on the top rack.
  3. Add a dishwasher pod to the dispenser drawer on the inside of the door.
  4. Press the Cycle button to toggle through options: Normal, Heavy, 1-Hour Wash, or AutoSense. Normal works for most loads.
  5. Press Start, then shut the door firmly within 4 seconds. If you miss the window it'll beep — press Start again, then close the door.
  6. If you open the door mid-cycle, it will pause automatically. To resume, press the Cycle button and close the door.

Washing Machine (Samsung top-load)

  1. Note: The lid is not currently on a hinge. Lift the top lid off and set it on top of the dryer.
  2. Load clothes loosely into the drum — don't fill above the MAX line.
  3. Open the detergent dispenser drawer and add detergent to the main slot and fabric softener to the middle slot. Then set the lid back in place.
  4. Press Power, then select your cycle: Normal for everyday, Heavy Duty for soiled loads, Delicates/Hand Wash for gentle, Quick Wash for lightly soiled items.
  5. Press Start.
  6. When done, transfer to the dryer — see the Dryer card for next steps.

  1. Clean the lint trap first — it's at the bottom of the door. Pull it out, peel the lint off, and reinsert.
  2. Load damp clothes loosely.
  3. Select your preferred cycle, then press Start. Takes ~45–55 min.

Espresso Machine (Breville The Infuser)
▾
  1. Slide the water tank out from the back, fill to the MAX line, slide back in.
  2. Turn on — wait for the light to stop flashing (~2 min warmup).
  3. Grind your beans until very fine — the grounds should not be chunky. Fill the portafilter (the handle with the metal basket) with the ground coffee. Tamp firmly and evenly.
  4. Lock the portafilter into the machine by turning clockwise until secure.
  5. Place your cup under the spout. Press 1 CUP or 2 CUP.
  6. For steamed milk: turn the STEAM dial and wait for the light to stop flashing. Submerge the steam wand tip just below the milk surface, then open the steam.

Electric Leaf Blower
▾
  1. Located near the back door. It's a cordless DeWalt — battery-powered.
  2. An extra battery is mounted on the wall by the door. Press the button on the battery to release it and swap it in if needed.
  3. Press and hold the trigger to run.
  4. Use to clear leaves or small rocks from the patio area.
  5. Return to its spot by the door when done.

Pizza Oven
▾
  1. Use dry hardwood only (oak is best). Order from austinfirewooddelivery.com or pick up locally.
  2. Place a fire-starter and 2–3 small split logs in the bottom portion of the oven. Light with the long lighter.
  3. Pull the handle on the top slot to slightly open it — this lets air flow and gets the fire going strong.
  4. Gradually add 1–2 more logs as the fire builds. Let it burn hot for 30–45 minutes until the dome glows orange inside.
  5. Keep the fire going! Add a log every 15–20 min to maintain heat. The hotter the better.
  6. ⚠️ Keep the fire extinguisher within reach — it's stored outside near the oven.
  7. Get the pizza peel from the pantry. Dust it generously with cornmeal before laying down the dough.
  8. Slide pizza in and rotate every 20–30 seconds. Cook time: ~60–90 seconds.

BBQ Grill (Weber 22" Charcoal)
▾
  1. Open the lid fully. Stack charcoal in a pyramid shape in the center of the grill.
  2. Douse the charcoal with lighter fluid and let it soak in for at least 1 minute before lighting.
  3. Light the coals and leave the lid open. Wait ~15–20 min until coals are ashed over and glowing orange.
  4. Spread coals for even cooking or keep mounded for high heat.
  5. Place the cooking grate back on, close lid, and preheat 5 min. Check the built-in thermometer — ideal grilling is 400–450°F.
  6. Clean the grate with the wire brush stored on the side shelf.
  7. Cook! Keep bottom vents open to maintain heat; close partially to reduce temperature.
  8. When done: close all vents and shut the lid completely to extinguish coals. Let cool fully before disposing of ash.

  1. Located in the raised yellow canoe near the back fence.
  2. The garden is watered automatically — no need to water it.
  3. Feel free to snip fresh herbs for cooking. We have basil, rosemary, and mint.

  1. Find the wireless remote in the drawer under the bedroom TV — the drawer is labeled "Remotes."
  2. Top buttons raise/lower the head.
  3. Bottom buttons raise/lower the feet.
  4. "Flat" button returns to fully flat.
  5. "Zero Gravity" preset elevates both head and feet slightly — great for sleeping.

  1. Blinds run on a schedule: they lower at 9:30 PM and raise at 7:00 AM.
  2. To manually override: use the remote mounted on the wall near the light switch — it's labeled.
  3. Up arrow raises, down arrow lowers.

  1. The TV remote and Apple remote are both in the drawer below the TV labeled "Remotes."
  2. Use the Apple remote to navigate. Press Menu to access apps — Netflix is logged in.
  3. For premium sound: press the power button on the soundbar to turn it on.
  4. If the TV doesn't respond to the Apple remote: use the TV remote to power the TV on first, then press Menu on the Apple remote.

  2. Walk to the front door keypad and enter your code.
  3. Press the lock symbol 🔒 after your code to confirm.
  4. Door will beep and unlock.
  5. On checkout: pull the door fully shut, then turn the lock knob to lock it.
What's the WiFi password?

What do we do with trash?

Trash bins are on the side of the house. Green bin = general trash. Blue bin = recycling. Pickup is Monday morning — please put the bins out Sunday night.
Can we have guests over?

Day guests are welcome — please keep total people on the property to a reasonable number. Overnight guests must be reflected in your Airbnb booking.
Is there a noise curfew?

Please keep outdoor noise to a minimum after 10:00 PM out of respect for neighbors. The backyard is yours to enjoy — just be mindful of surrounding homes.
What if something is broken or missing?

What's the chicken coop in the backyard?

We have a chicken coop on the property — though there are currently no chickens, as they require daily care that doesn't work well for a rental. Feel free to take a look at it!
